真空管OTLアンプ
通常の真空管アンプと違い、真空管ＯＴL （Output Transformer Less)アンプは出力トランスを使わないため、音の抜けが良くクリアーで再生周波数レンジも広く、純粋に真空管のみの特性をいかしたアンプです。
ただし、通常に真空管アンプと比較した場合、各真空管のバランス調整などがシビアな点もございますけど、入力信号を忠実に再生する素性の良さがあるため、根強いファンも多くいます。
自作マニア向けのキットもございますが、上級者向けの製品となりますので、初心者の方はご遠慮ください。
チューブチェッカー
なぜチューブチェッカーが必要なのか？
それは同じ型番の真空管といっても、それぞれ個別に特性が大きく異なるからなのです。
同じメーカー製であっても、新旧で特性、歪率、音質の違いとなって現れます。
シングルアンプの場合は、左右で特性のばらつきがある真空管を使用すると、音のバランスや量感の違いとなって出てきますので、左右でアンバランスな音となり、結果として音質に不満を持った音楽を聴くことになります。
これがプッシュプルアンプの場合は、これらの乱れがさらに強調されやすくなり、音の歪や濁りも強調されやすくなります。
これを知らずに、有名ブランドの真空管だから勝手に音が良いと思い込んでいる人も多くいるのです。
また新しい真空管を使用する場合、事前にエージングをすることにより、真空管の故障率が低減して寿命が延び、また音質も良くなります。
もちろん古い真空管であっても、効果は少なくなりますが、ご使用前にエージングされることをお勧めいたします。
真空管アンプの楽しみ方は様々で、キット作りを楽しむ方もいれば、完成品を購入して音楽を楽しむ方もおりますが、音が良いといわれる真空管を差し替えたり、スペア管を用意したりなど、その楽しみ方は数多く存在します。
その為にも必ずペアチューブを使用し、さらなる音質向上を目指してみてはいかがでしょう。
